  • The first step is to check the symbols on the pillow label to determine how it should be washed. Most pillows, except memory foam pillows, can be machine washed.
  • Next, you should hug the pillow tightly to squeeze out as much air as possible.
  • When you put the pillow in the washer, add detergent and fabric softener. Use a mild detergent that is free of dyes or fragrances, which can stain the pillowcase. Also, do not use bleach on the pillow, as it can discolor the pillow and cause the fabric to deteriorate faster.
  • When washing pillows, use the gentle mode. If this mode is not available, choose the normal mode but wash with warm water to prevent the pillow from shrinking or losing color. And to ensure a thorough wash, you can increase the spin cycle.
  • Put the pillow out to dry.

However, pillows should be washed every 6 months or more often. If you can’t wash your pillows, vacuum them and wipe them with a damp cloth. Dust the pillows daily. Dry them outside in the sun for 2-3 hours every month to help them regain their shape and remove dust.
